For many the first encounter with the Czech cuisine is tasting festive dishes such as roast meat with Czech dumplings. However there are also many economical and simple dishes which may be served with the excellent Czech beer, such as the following potato dumplings, richly spiced up with garlic and other seasonings.

Ingredients

1 kg potatoes, peeled and grated
200 ml milk
3 tablespoons plain flour
3 eggs, mixed
50 g smoked bacon, diced
3-4 cloves garlic, crushed
marjoram
pepper
salt
oil
1 tablespoon Vegeta Gourmet Stock Powder

Preparation For this recipe you only need imagination!

  • 1 Pour hot milk over the potatoes.
  • 2 Add bacon, mixed eggs, flour, garlic marjoram, pepper, a little salt and Vegeta Gourmet Stock Powder.
  • 3 Mix all the ingredients well, and spoon the mixture into hot oil. Press lightly so you form a small yet thick pancake.
  • 4 Cook on both sides, as bramboraky should be crunchy.
  • 5 Arrange in an absorbent paper towel, and serve.

Advice

All the ingredients for bramboraky should be prepared in advance, making the cooking process as short as possible and also ensures a better taste.

Serving

Bramboraky can be served hot or cold. With salad or buttermilk, which then forms a small and tasty meal, or even with beer, as a snack.

Little secrets

When you pour hot milk over grated potato you will create a compact mixture, especially when combined with flour. This process also shortens the cooking time.
